Hello, this is me.
Griff Hoffmann
What is there to say? Just look at that picture. Isn't that enough? Well, there are probably things that the picture doesn't convey too great. Obviously, I enjoy keeping a short trimmed beard, drinking coffee, and sitting on dumb furniture. What might be a little harder to tell is that I've been playing games for as long as I can remember. Or that I've discovered what I love more than playing games (and dumb stuff) is having a conversation about video games.
Around the early part of 2008 I started blogging my thoughts on video games as a way of developing my writing skills and getting my voice out. A few short months later, I scraped together a group of college buddies to do a weekly podcast. It was an fun opportunity for all of us to talk about games and gave people who might not have a group of pals who play games a chance to live vicariously through us. A project which started as a fun hobby has only grown; evolving in quality to match the skill and devotion of the people who are a part of it.
That being said, I hope to continue to grow and learn more myself. Hopefully that will be reflected in the quality and content of this site.
Anyway, the best way to get to know me is to read my features, watch my videos, listen in to Boss Barrel Radio, and keep an eye on Boss Barrel for the next project.
I should take these last few lines to thank those people who have been an influence on me. I've met so very few of you but your devotion to the intellectual and fun discussion of games has been one of the biggest motivations to keep me pursuing my dreams. I also want to thank everyone who has been a part of my projects and all the amazing people who have been drawn together by our mutual love for video games. Most importantly, I need to thank those precious few people who have supported me. Thank you all.
