By Ryan Fielder When I think of Transformers I think of two things; big bad-ass robots from outer space with guns, and the never ending battle of good versus evil. One would think that a franchise with those main concepts in mind, a video game would be an easy grand slam. Unfortunately, that has not been the case for over 20 years....until now.

By John Stanhope Developed by IO Interactive, Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days does a lot of things different from the first game, aside from being good. While the game is much better than its predecessor, it still has many flaws that hinder it from becoming a much better game than it could be. No longer a third person squad controlling shooter Kane and Lynch takes on a new role as strictly a third person cover shooter (with an emphasis on shooter). By John Stanhope "Oh the places you'll go." Is what I thought of after playing this game, but this is far from a Dr. Sues tale.
The first game to come out of XBox's Summer of Arcade was the most interesting game in the line up to me, and with it only costing 1200 points ($15) I'd say well worth the price. Limbo at its core is a simple platforming game with very simple controls, but is so much more, its main focus is in its puzzle solving the likes of which I haven't seen since Portal. Aside from left and right movement you only have a jump button and an interact button. This is one of the times that less is more, anything more might have made this game too complex for its own good. |
