1. It’s nearly impossible to find a new standalone system online. Everything is a bundle.
2. I replaced by 60 gig HDD with a 250 a few years ago, so I’m hoping that the old system can be repaired and I can pop the big HDD in it again without having to reformate and lose all my data.
3. It is the old 60 gig with PS2 backwards compatibility so it has that going for it.
My better judgment tells me to accept the offer from Sony and trade my A01 for a new Slim. I don’t know if I will be able to trust my PS3 after this. What if it dies again? It would be smarter to get the slimmer, quieter, energy efficient device and start over. I think I made a huge mistake.
I spent a little time with Platinum Games’ Anarchy Reigns: a 30 dollar beat ‘em up with a huge roster. While most of the game is spent clobbering generic waves of mutant goons, the one on one fights against the other playable characters were the most fun. Very similar to a MOBA, but without the character progression, Anarchy Reigns‘single player campaign is tedious with not enough pay off. The online multiplayer could have been cool, but time must be spent in single player unlocking all the characters for online. Plus I couldn’t find a match so another miss there. 30 dollars new seems to be the right price for that game.
